About Chrysanthemum indicum Mix

Chrysanthemum indicum Mix is a vibrant collection of hardy flowering chrysanthemums that produce masses of colourful blooms in shades of yellow, white, pink, purple, bronze, orange and red. Flowering from late summer through autumn, these long-lasting plants provide a spectacular display when many other garden flowers are beginning to fade.

With their compact, bushy habit, plants typically grow to 40–70cm tall with a spread of 40–60cm, making them ideal for borders, patio containers, window boxes and seasonal displays. Their daisy-like or fully double flowers are excellent for cutting and are highly attractive to bees and other late-season pollinators.

Planting Guide

• Plant in full sun for the best flowering performance.
• Will tolerate light partial shade, although flowering may be reduced.
• Prefers fertile, well-drained, moisture-retentive soil.
• Improve poor soils with compost or well-rotted organic matter before planting.
• Dig a planting hole twice the width of the root ball and the same depth.
• Carefully remove the plant from its pot and gently loosen the roots.
• Position the plant so the top of the root ball sits level with the surrounding soil.
• Backfill with soil, firm gently and water thoroughly.
• Apply a 5–8cm layer of organic mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
• Space plants approximately 40–50cm apart for good airflow and healthy growth.

• Water regularly during the first growing season.
• Keep the soil evenly moist but avoid waterlogging.
• Once established, water during prolonged dry periods.
• Feed every spring with a balanced slow-release fertiliser.
• Apply a high-potash liquid feed every two to three weeks during the flowering season to encourage more blooms.
• Refresh mulch annually to improve soil quality and retain moisture.
• Remove weeds regularly from around the base.
• Deadhead faded flowers regularly to encourage continuous flowering.
• Protect plants from severe winter wet, particularly in poorly drained soils.

Pruning

Regular pruning helps maintain a compact shape and encourages abundant flowering.

• Pinch out the growing tips in late spring to encourage bushier plants with more flowers.
• Deadhead spent blooms throughout the flowering season.
• Cut stems back to approximately 10–15cm above ground level after flowering or in late winter.

• Divide mature clumps every 3–4 years in spring to maintain vigour.

Live Plants Delivery

Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.

Our staff will contact you by phone when your order is ready for collection (Please allow 24 hours minimum). When collecting your item, call the store on 069-64084.
