🌼 What It Does

• Produces rich yellow blooms with large flat petals that stand out vividly against dark green, glossy leaves. 

• Favours pollinators — its open-centre flowers make it especially attractive to bees and butterflies, making it suitable for wildlife-friendly gardens. 

• Compact habit: typically reaches around 40–50 cm tall and wide, making it suitable for smaller gardens, mixed beds, or container planting. 

• Repeats flowering — gives colour from late spring to autumn if properly maintained and dead-headed. 

🌿 Planting & Position

• Light: Requires full sun for best flowering and foliage health. Partial shade reduces bloom frequency and intensity. 

• Soil: Prefers moist, well-drained, fertile soil enriched with organic matter. Avoid waterlogged conditions.

• Spacing: For planting in a mixed border or bed — allow approx. 50–60 cm between plants so each rose gets enough light and airflow.

• Containers: Works well in large pots (e.g. 25–30 cm+ diameter) for patios or balconies — ensure good drainage and regular watering.

🛠 Care & Maintenance

• Watering: Water thoroughly after planting, then keep soil evenly moist during first growing season. Once established, water regularly during extended dry spells, especially in containers.

• Feeding: Apply a balanced rose fertiliser in early spring, and optionally a second feeding mid-summer to support continuous flowering.

• Mulching: Use compost or well-rotted manure in spring to improve soil structure and retain moisture.

• Pruning: Prune in late winter / early spring: remove dead, diseased or crossing stems, and shorten the remaining canes by ~⅓ to encourage a bushy, compact habit and repeat blooms. Remove spent flowers (dead-heading) regularly through summer for best results.

• Disease & pests: ‘Ducat Mella’ benefits from the breeding focus of the Mella series — leaves remain healthy through summer, helping reduce common disease issues when the rose is cared for and well placed.

All standard deliveries will be completed within 5-7 working days via Fastway Couriers, any delay to this delivery time, the customer will be notified by One of our staff.

The in-Store delivery charge will vary compared with online, in-store delivery charge is done on a case by case basis.

Live Plants Delivery

Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.
 

Click & Collect

Can’t wait for delivery? Why not try our FREE Click & Collect service? Simply make your purchase online and collect it from our store located in Croagh Co. Limerick. Our staff will contact you by phone when your order is ready for collection (Please allow 24 hours minimum). When collecting your item, call the store on 069-64084. We will then load into your car as required. This service is available in-store 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday (No collections on Sundays)
