Monstera deliciosa ‘Thai Constellation’ is a highly sought-after variegated form of the classic Swiss Cheese Plant. It is prized for its creamy-white marbled variegation, which resembles a constellation of stars across large, fenestrated leaves. Each leaf is uniquely patterned, with marbling ranging from small flecks to large cream patches.

Bred through tissue culture, ‘Thai Constellation’ is more stable in variegation than many other variegated Monsteras, making it a reliable showpiece in any houseplant collection. It is a slow to moderate grower, maturing into a dramatic, statement-making plant with proper care.

Growing Conditions and Maintenance

This plant thrives in bright, indirect light and warm, humid environments. While fairly resilient, it does need attentive care to preserve its variegation and health.

• Light Requirements:

  • Prefers bright, indirect light—essential for maintaining variegation

  • Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch white areas

  • Too little light can cause reduced variegation and leggy growth

• Temperature and Humidity:

  • Best between 18–27°C (avoid temperatures below 15°C)

  • Thrives in 60–80% humidity

  • Use a humidifier or pebble tray in dry rooms

• Watering:

  • Water when the top 2–4 cm of soil feels dry

  • Avoid overwatering—this plant is sensitive to root rot

  • Ensure drainage holes are present in the pot

• Feeding:

  • Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser

  • Avoid overfeeding, especially with high-nitrogen fertilisers, which can reduce variegation

• Soil Requirements:

  • Use a well-draining aroid mix: orchid bark, perlite, and peat-based compost

  • Avoid dense, compacted soils

• Support and Pruning:

  • Provide a moss pole or coir totem for vertical growth

  • Prune lightly to shape or remove damaged leaves

  • Propagation by stem cuttings is possible but slow due to tissue culture origin

  • Feature in a decorative floor pot in living rooms or offices

  • Let it climb for dramatic height, or let it cascade for a wild look

  • Pair with other bold foliage plants like Alocasia, Philodendron, or Ficus lyrata

• Troubleshooting:

  • Brown edges: Often due to low humidity or salt build-up

  • Yellowing leaves: Typically overwatering—check root health

  • Loss of variegation: Light levels may be too low

• Pests:

  • Watch for spider mites, mealybugs, and thrips—wipe leaves regularly and treat early

The in-Store delivery charge will vary compared with online, in-store delivery charge is done on a case by case basis.

Live Plants Delivery

Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.

Can’t wait for delivery? Why not try our FREE Click & Collect service? Simply make your purchase online and collect it from our store located in Croagh Co. Limerick. Our staff will contact you by phone when your order is ready for collection (Please allow 24 hours minimum). When collecting your item, call the store on 069-64084. We will then load into your car as required. This service is available in-store 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday (No collections on Sundays)
