Planting & Position

• Light:

  • Prefers full sun for the best flowering and richest colour tones.

  • Will tolerate light partial shade, though bloom quantity may be reduced.

• Soil:

  • Thrives in moist, fertile, well-drained soil, ideally enriched with compost or well-rotted manure.

  • Avoid heavy, saturated soils that retain too much moisture.

• Spacing:

  • Plant 50–60 cm apart to ensure good airflow and maintain strong, healthy growth.

• Planting time:

  • Container-grown plants can be planted at any time.

  • If supplied bareroot, plant during the November–March dormant season.

Care & Maintenance

‘Belle Rives’ is a low-maintenance, robust rose that rewards regular care with abundant blooms.

• Watering:

  • Water deeply after planting and continue regularly through the first season.

  • Once established, water weekly during dry spells.

  • Keep water at the base of the plant to reduce fungal issues.

• Feeding:

  • Apply a rose fertiliser in early spring as new growth appears.

  • Feed again in mid-summer to encourage fresh flower clusters.

• Mulching:

  • Mulch in spring with compost or well-rotted manure to improve soil moisture retention and condition.

• Pruning:

  • Prune in late winter/early spring (February–March).

  • Remove dead, weak, or crossing stems.

  • Reduce the remaining stems by one-third to create a strong framework.

  • Deadhead spent blooms promptly to encourage repeat flowering.

• Disease resistance:

  • Strong resistance to blackspot, mildew, and rust.

  • Good airflow and proper spacing further help maintain plant health.

• Flowers:

  • Large clusters of apricot-pink blooms, often with a warm, glowing centre.

  • Repeat flowers from June to October, especially with regular deadheading.

Live Plants Delivery

Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.

Can’t wait for delivery? Why not try our FREE Click & Collect service? Simply make your purchase online and collect it from our store located in Croagh Co. Limerick. Our staff will contact you by phone when your order is ready for collection (Please allow 24 hours minimum). When collecting your item, call the store on 069-64084. We will then load into your car as required. This service is available in-store 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday (No collections on Sundays)
