Rosa Mix refers to a selection of rose varieties, often including a colourful blend of floribunda, hybrid tea, climbing, and shrub roses. These offer a diverse range of flower shapes, colours, scents, and growth habits, making them highly versatile for mixed borders, formal rose beds, hedges, or containers.

Whether chosen for fragrance, colour impact, or garden structure, roses are among the most popular flowering plants worldwide, offering season-long beauty from late spring to autumn.

• A variety of flower colours: reds, pinks, whites, yellows, oranges, and bicolours

• Blooms may be single, semi-double, or fully double

• Flowering period: May/June to October

• Growth varies: bushy compact (30–90 cm) to tall or climbing types (1.5–3 m+)

Growing Conditions and Maintenance

Roses are long-lived and rewarding plants that thrive in a sunny, well-prepared spot with regular feeding and minimal care.

• Light Requirements:

  • Require full sun (at least 6 hours daily) for best performance

  • Can tolerate light shade, but flowering may be reduced

• Soil Preferences:

  • Prefer moist, fertile, well-drained soil

  • Enrich planting site with well-rotted manure or compost

  • Avoid planting in areas where old roses died (to reduce replant disease)

• Watering:

  • Water deeply during dry spells, especially in the first year

  • Mature roses need less frequent but thorough watering

  • Water at the base to prevent fungal issues on foliage

• Feeding:

  • Feed in early spring with a dedicated rose fertiliser

  • Apply again after first flush of flowers (usually late June/early July)

  • Mulch annually in spring to retain moisture and suppress weeds

• Pruning Tips:

  • Prune annually in late winter or early spring

  • Floribundas: prune to outward-facing buds 20–30 cm from base

  • Hybrid Teas: prune harder, leaving 3–4 strong stems

  • Shrub roses: thin lightly and shape

  • Climbers: prune after flowering and tie in strong new shoots

Seasonal Display and Garden Uses

Rosa mixes are ideal for creating dynamic, colourful garden schemes that offer fragrance, structure, and a long season of blooms.

• Landscape Applications:

  • Use Floribundas and Hybrid Teas for formal rose beds or cutting gardens

  • Shrub roses for borders, hedges, or naturalistic planting

  • Climbers for walls, fences, pergolas, or arches

  • Suitable for containers if given sufficient space and support

• Companion Plants:

  • Combine with lavender, salvia, nepeta, catmint, allium, or lady’s mantle

  • Underplant with geraniums or low grasses to soften the look and reduce mildew

• Pest and Disease Notes:

  • Watch for aphids, blackspot, mildew, and rust

  • Ensure good air circulation and clean up fallen leaves

  • Use organic sprays or horticultural soap where necessary

All standard deliveries will be completed within 5-7 working days via Fastway Couriers, any delay to this delivery time, the customer will be notified by One of our staff.

The in-Store delivery charge will vary compared with online, in-store delivery charge is done on a case by case basis.

Live Plants Delivery

Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.
 

Click & Collect

Can’t wait for delivery? Why not try our FREE Click & Collect service? Simply make your purchase online and collect it from our store located in Croagh Co. Limerick. Our staff will contact you by phone when your order is ready for collection (Please allow 24 hours minimum). When collecting your item, call the store on 069-64084. We will then load into your car as required. This service is available in-store 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday (No collections on Sundays)
