Planting & Positioning

• Rosa ‘Silver Wishes’ is a floribunda rose producing clusters of elegant, silvery-lavender blooms with a gentle fragrance.

• Best planted in full sun for strong flowering and healthy growth. Aim for at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily.

• Will tolerate light partial shade, though flowering may be reduced.

• Prefers fertile, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter.

• Avoid areas that remain waterlogged, particularly during winter.

• Dig a hole wide enough to comfortably spread the roots and deep enough so the graft union (swollen join on the stem) sits just below soil level.

• Mix well-rotted compost or manure into the backfill soil before planting.

• Firm the soil gently around the roots and water thoroughly to settle.

• Space plants adequately to allow good air circulation, reducing the risk of disease.

• Apply a mulch around the base after planting, keeping it clear of the main stem.

Rosa ‘Silver Wishes’ works beautifully in mixed borders, rose beds, or as a feature plant where its unusual colouring can be fully appreciated.

Watering, Feeding & General Care

• Water regularly during the first growing season to establish strong roots.

• Once established, water deeply during prolonged dry spells, especially in summer.

• Always water at the base of the plant to keep foliage dry and reduce disease risk.

• Feed in early spring with a specialist rose fertiliser to encourage healthy growth and abundant blooms.

• Apply a second feed in early summer to support repeat flowering.

• Avoid excessive nitrogen feeds, which may encourage leafy growth over flowers.

• Deadhead spent blooms regularly to promote continuous flowering throughout the season.

• Keep the surrounding soil weed free to reduce competition for nutrients.

With proper feeding and care, this floribunda rose will provide repeated flushes of blooms from early summer into autumn.

Pruning, Maintenance & Disease Prevention

• Prune in late winter or early spring while the plant is still dormant.

• Remove dead, damaged, or crossing stems first.

• Cut remaining healthy stems back to an outward-facing bud, typically reducing height by about one-third to one-half.

• Aim to create an open, balanced shape that allows air circulation through the centre.

• During the growing season, remove any weak or spindly shoots.

• Watch for common rose issues such as black spot, powdery mildew, or aphids.

• Ensure good spacing and airflow to help prevent fungal diseases.

• Clear away fallen leaves in autumn to reduce overwintering pests and disease.

• In colder areas, apply a protective mulch around the base in late autumn to protect roots from severe frost.

Live Plants Delivery

Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.

Can’t wait for delivery? Why not try our FREE Click & Collect service? Simply make your purchase online and collect it from our store located in Croagh Co. Limerick. Our staff will contact you by phone when your order is ready for collection (Please allow 24 hours minimum). When collecting your item, call the store on 069-64084. We will then load into your car as required. This service is available in-store 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday (No collections on Sundays)
