Light & Positioning

• Succulent Mix P 5.5 is a collection of small, easy-care indoor succulents grown in 5.5 cm pots, ideal for windowsills, desks, and small decorative containers.

• Place in a bright position with plenty of natural light. A south- or west-facing windowsill is ideal.

• Succulents require several hours of bright, indirect sunlight daily to maintain compact growth and vibrant colour.

• Some varieties can tolerate gentle direct morning or late afternoon sun, but avoid intense midday sun behind glass, which may scorch leaves.

• In lower light conditions, plants may stretch or become leggy as they search for light.

• Rotate pots regularly to ensure even growth and prevent leaning.

• Keep away from cold draughts and sudden temperature drops.

• Ideal indoor temperatures range between 15–24°C.

• Avoid placing directly above radiators or heaters, as excessive dry heat can stress plants.

Good light levels are the key to healthy succulents. Insufficient light is the most common cause of poor growth and loss of shape.

Watering & Feeding

• Allow the compost to dry out completely between waterings. Succulents store water in their leaves and stems, making them highly drought tolerant.

• Water thoroughly but sparingly, ensuring excess water drains freely from the base of the pot.

• Never allow pots to sit in standing water, as this can quickly lead to root rot.

• During spring and summer, water approximately every 2–3 weeks, depending on light and room temperature.

• Reduce watering significantly in autumn and winter when growth slows.

• If unsure, it is safer to underwater than overwater.

• Signs of overwatering include soft, mushy leaves and yellowing.

• Wrinkled or slightly shrivelled leaves can indicate the plant is ready for watering.

• Feed lightly once a month during spring and summer with a diluted cactus or succulent fertiliser.

• Do not feed during winter dormancy.

Always use pots with drainage holes and free-draining cactus compost to prevent excess moisture around the roots.

Repotting, Care & Maintenance

• Repot only when the plant outgrows its container, typically every 1–2 years.

• Choose a pot only slightly larger than the current one to avoid retaining unnecessary moisture.

• Use a specialist cactus or succulent compost for best drainage.

• Gently loosen roots when repotting and remove any dead or damaged sections.

• Allow freshly repotted plants to settle for a few days before watering.

• Remove any dead leaves from the base of the plant to maintain appearance and prevent rot.

• Many succulents can be propagated from leaf cuttings or offsets, making them ideal for expanding your collection.

• Monitor occasionally for pests such as mealybugs or fungus gnats.

• Ensure good air circulation around plants to reduce the risk of fungal issues.

All standard deliveries will be completed within 5-7 working days via Fastway Couriers, any delay to this delivery time, the customer will be notified by One of our staff.

The in-Store delivery charge will vary compared with online, in-store delivery charge is done on a case by case basis.

Live Plants Delivery

Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.
 

Click & Collect

Can’t wait for delivery? Why not try our FREE Click & Collect service? Simply make your purchase online and collect it from our store located in Croagh Co. Limerick. Our staff will contact you by phone when your order is ready for collection (Please allow 24 hours minimum). When collecting your item, call the store on 069-64084. We will then load into your car as required. This service is available in-store 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday (No collections on Sundays)
