How to Care for Viburnum tinus Stem 60cm

To ensure your Viburnum tinus stem 60cm thrives, follow these care guidelines:

    • Light Requirements – Prefers full sun to partial shade. While it can tolerate some shade, more sunlight will lead to better flowering.
    • Soil Type – Thrives in moist, well-draining soil. It is adaptable to a wide range of soil types, including slightly alkaline soil.
    • Watering – Regular watering is important, especially during dry periods. Ensure that the soil remains moist but not waterlogged.
    • Fertilising – Feed with a balanced fertiliser in early spring to encourage healthy growth and abundant blooms. A slow-release fertiliser will also work well.
    • Mulching – Apply a layer of mulch around the base of the plant to help conserve moisture, suppress weeds, and regulate soil temperature.
    • Pruning – Prune your Viburnum tinus stem 60cm after flowering to maintain its shape and size. Cut back any dead or damaged stems to promote healthy growth.

Maintenance Tips for Viburnum tinus Stem 60cm

To keep your Viburnum tinus stem 60cm healthy and vibrant, here are some maintenance tips:

    • Watering – Keep the soil consistently moist but well-drained, especially during dry spells. Be cautious of overwatering, which can lead to root rot.
    • Pruning – After the plant finishes blooming, prune lightly to remove spent flowers and maintain a tidy appearance. You can also trim back any overgrown stems to encourage a bushier shape.
    • Feeding – Fertilise in early spring before new growth begins. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertiliser to support the plant's growth.
    • Pest Control – Viburnum tinus is generally pest-resistant. However, occasionally check for aphids or scale insects, particularly on the undersides of leaves. If found, treat with a suitable insecticide or use organic solutions like neem oil.
    • Winter Care – While Viburnum tinus is hardy, consider mulching around the base in winter to protect the roots from extreme cold. Avoid heavy pruning in winter, as this can damage the plant.
    • Deadheading – To keep your Viburnum tinus stem 60cm looking tidy and encourage more blooms, remove any spent flowers. Deadheading also improves air circulation around the plant.
