Pruning, Propagation, and Pest Control
Pruning and Deadheading
- Deadheading: Remove spent flower heads to encourage prolonged blooming.
- Foliage Maintenance: Trim back damaged or dead leaves to maintain a tidy appearance.
- Autumn Care: Allow foliage to die back naturally before cutting it back in late autumn.
Propagation Techniques
- Division:
- Divide clumps every 3-4 years in early spring or autumn.
- Carefully separate offsets and replant immediately.
- Self-Seeding: This variety rarely self-seeds aggressively, making it easy to maintain in borders.
Common Pests and Diseases
- Generally Pest-Free: Rarely affected by serious pests or diseases.
- Onion Fly or Nematodes: Occasionally, onion-related pests may affect the plant (Solution: Maintain proper spacing and soil drainage).
