• Aquilegia ‘Spring Magic Rose White’ is a compact, early-flowering columbine with soft rose-pink and white bicolour blooms.

• Produces elegant, nodding flowers with contrasting centres held above delicate, fern-like foliage.

• Flowers in mid to late spring, often earlier than traditional aquilegia varieties.

• Typically reaches 30–40 cm in height, making it ideal for the front of borders and patio containers.

Planting & Positioning

• Plant in full sun or partial shade.

• Performs best in light shade in warmer areas to protect foliage.

• Prefers fertile, moist but well-drained soil enriched with organic matter.

• Avoid areas prone to winter waterlogging.

• Dig a hole slightly wider and the same depth as the pot.

• Position the plant so the top of the root ball sits level with the soil surface.

• Backfill, firm gently, and water thoroughly after planting.

• Space plants 25–30 cm apart to allow for airflow and natural spread.

• Ideal for borders, raised beds, woodland gardens, and containers.

Aquilegia thrives in cooler, sheltered areas with consistent soil moisture.

Watering, Feeding & Flowering

• Water regularly during the first growing season to help establish roots.

• Keep soil evenly moist during active growth and flowering.

• Avoid excessive watering in poorly drained soil.

• Feed in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertiliser.

• Alternatively, apply compost or organic matter around the base annually.

• Avoid high-nitrogen fertilisers, which may promote foliage at the expense of blooms.

• Flowering typically occurs in mid to late spring.

• Deadhead spent blooms to prolong flowering and maintain a tidy appearance.

With proper feeding and moisture, plants will produce a generous flush of spring flowers.

Pruning, Maintenance & General Care

• Remove faded flower stems once blooming finishes to prevent excessive self-seeding.

• Cut back foliage after flowering if it becomes untidy.

• Allow selected plants to self-seed if a naturalised effect is desired.

• Divide congested clumps every few years in spring or autumn.

• Apply mulch annually to conserve moisture and improve soil structure.

• Generally low maintenance, though monitor for leaf miner damage on foliage.

• Foliage dies back in winter and regrows in spring.

Live Plants Delivery

Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.
 

Click & Collect

Can’t wait for delivery? Why not try our FREE Click & Collect service? Simply make your purchase online and collect it from our store located in Croagh Co. Limerick. Our staff will contact you by phone when your order is ready for collection (Please allow 24 hours minimum). When collecting your item, call the store on 069-64084. We will then load into your car as required. This service is available in-store 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday (No collections on Sundays)
