Erigeron glaucus 'Sea Breeze'—commonly known as Seaside Daisy or Beach Aster—is a charming coastal perennial that offers daisy-like flowers in abundance over many months. Compact and spreading, it forms a low-growing mat of silvery-green foliage topped with masses of soft lavender-pink blooms with golden centres.

Native to the Pacific coastal regions of North America, 'Sea Breeze' is well-suited to sunny borders, rockeries, gravel gardens, and especially coastal or drought-prone areas. Its cheerful appearance and long flowering season make it a popular choice for informal gardens and containers alike.

Growing Conditions and Maintenance

Erigeron 'Sea Breeze' is a low-maintenance and resilient plant when grown in suitable conditions. It thrives in poor, dry soils and loves full sun.

• Light Requirements:

  • Requires full sun to thrive and flower well

  • Will tolerate very light partial shade, but may become leggy

• Soil Preferences:

  • Prefers well-drained, sandy or gritty soils

  • Thrives in poor or low-fertility conditions

  • Avoid heavy or waterlogged soils

• Watering:

  • Water moderately during the first season to establish

  • Thereafter, drought-tolerant and only needs watering in prolonged dry spells

  • Overwatering may cause root rot or mildew

• Feeding:

  • Generally no feeding required in average soil

  • Over-fertilising can reduce flowering and cause soft, weak growth

• Pruning and Deadheading:

  • Deadhead spent flowers regularly to promote continuous blooming

  • Trim back lightly after flowering to encourage bushiness

  • Cut back hard in early spring to rejuvenate older plants

Live Plants Delivery

Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.

Can’t wait for delivery? Why not try our FREE Click & Collect service? Simply make your purchase online and collect it from our store located in Croagh Co. Limerick. Our staff will contact you by phone when your order is ready for collection (Please allow 24 hours minimum). When collecting your item, call the store on 069-64084. We will then load into your car as required. This service is available in-store 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday (No collections on Sundays)
