About Hyacinthus 'Pink Pearl'
Hyacinthus orientalis 'Pink Pearl' is a beautiful spring-flowering Hyacinth producing dense spikes of highly fragrant deep rose-pink flowers, often with slightly paler edges.
Its combination of strong colour and wonderful fragrance makes 'Pink Pearl' an excellent choice for spring containers, window boxes and garden borders. The compact flower spikes also work beautifully alongside Tulips, Narcissus and other spring bulbs.
Each pack contains 3 bulbs, ideal for planting together to create a concentrated display of colour and fragrance.
Planting Guide
- Plant outdoors in autumn, ideally from September to November.
- Choose a position in full sun or light partial shade.
- Prefers fertile, well-drained soil.
- Avoid permanently waterlogged ground.
- Plant bulbs approximately 10–15cm deep.
- Position with the pointed end facing upwards.
- Space approximately 10–15cm apart.
- Plant all three bulbs together for the strongest display.
- Water after planting if the soil is dry.
- Wearing gloves when handling Hyacinth bulbs is advisable, as they can irritate sensitive skin.
Planting in Containers
'Pink Pearl' is particularly attractive in spring patio pots.
- Choose a container with good drainage holes.
- Use good-quality, free-draining multipurpose compost.
- Plant the bulbs fairly close together without allowing them to touch.
- Position the bulbs with their pointed ends upwards.
- Cover with compost and water thoroughly.
- Keep the container outdoors in full sun or partial shade.
- Avoid allowing pots to remain permanently waterlogged.
Combine with Muscari, Crocus, Tulips and dwarf Narcissus for a colourful mixed spring display.
Care & Maintenance
Hyacinths require relatively little maintenance.
- Water during prolonged dry periods while actively growing.
- Check container-grown plants regularly for watering.
- Avoid excessive watering.
- Feed with a high-potash fertiliser after flowering if bulbs are being retained for future years.
- Remove faded flower spikes once flowering has finished.
- Leave the foliage intact until it naturally turns yellow.

- Flower spikes may become somewhat smaller in later seasons.
Common Problems
- Waterlogging can cause bulb rot.
- Slugs and snails may damage emerging foliage.
- Heavy spring rain can occasionally cause large flower spikes to lean.
- Poor drainage can reduce overwintering success.
- Removing foliage too early can weaken bulbs.
- Hyacinth bulbs can cause skin irritation, so gloves are recommended when handling them.

Live Plants Delivery
Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.
