Overview & Features

• Iberis sempervirens ‘Snowpatrol’ is a compact, evergreen perennial known for its abundant pure white flower clusters.

• Produces dense domes of blooms in mid to late spring, often covering the foliage completely.

• Forms neat, low-growing mounds of dark green, glossy leaves.

• Typically grows to 15–20 cm in height, spreading up to 30–40 cm.

• Ideal for rockeries, edging, gravel gardens, and the front of sunny borders.

• Excellent for softening path edges and cascading over walls.

• Attractive to bees and other pollinators.

• Provides bright seasonal contrast in spring planting schemes.

This variety is valued for its compact habit and reliable, showy spring display.

Planting & Positioning

• Plant in full sun for the best flowering performance.

• Tolerates light partial shade, though flowering may be slightly reduced.

• Prefers well-drained soil and does not tolerate winter waterlogging.

• Thrives in sandy, gritty, or moderately fertile soils.

• Improve heavy soils with grit before planting to enhance drainage.

• Ideal for raised beds, slopes, alpine gardens, and container planting.

• Dig a hole slightly wider and the same depth as the pot.

• Position the crown level with the soil surface.

• Backfill, firm gently, and water thoroughly after planting.

• Space plants approximately 30–40 cm apart to allow for spreading.

Iberis performs best in sunny, open areas with excellent drainage.

Watering, Feeding & Flowering

• Water regularly during the first growing season to establish roots.

• Once established, plants are moderately drought tolerant.

• Avoid overwatering, particularly during winter months.

• Feed lightly in early spring with a balanced fertiliser if soil is poor.

• Avoid excessive feeding, as rich soil may reduce flowering.

• Flowering typically occurs in mid to late spring.

• Light deadheading after flowering helps maintain a neat appearance.

Full sun and free-draining soil promote strong growth and abundant blooms.

Pruning, Maintenance & General Care

• Trim back lightly after flowering to maintain a compact shape and encourage fresh growth.

• Avoid cutting deeply into older woody stems where regrowth may be limited.

• Remove any dead or damaged stems as needed.

• Divide clumps every few years if plants become woody or sparse in the centre.

• Apply a light gravel mulch to improve drainage and reduce excess moisture around the crown.

• Generally low maintenance and pest resistant when grown in suitable conditions.

• Evergreen foliage provides year-round structure in the garden.

The in-Store delivery charge will vary compared with online, in-store delivery charge is done on a case by case basis.

Live Plants Delivery

Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.
 

Click & Collect

Can’t wait for delivery? Why not try our FREE Click & Collect service? Simply make your purchase online and collect it from our store located in Croagh Co. Limerick. Our staff will contact you by phone when your order is ready for collection (Please allow 24 hours minimum). When collecting your item, call the store on 069-64084. We will then load into your car as required. This service is available in-store 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday (No collections on Sundays)
