About Narcissus Double Mixed Colours

Narcissus Double Mixed Colours is a colourful selection of double-flowering Daffodils, producing impressive blooms with multiple layers of petals and ruffled centres. Depending on the mixture, flowers may include attractive combinations of yellow, white, cream and orange.

Double Narcissus provide a fuller, more decorative appearance than traditional single Daffodils while retaining the reliability and easy-care nature that makes Narcissus such a favourite for spring gardens.

Each promotional pack contains 8 bulbs, ideal for planting together in borders, beds or patio containers.

Planting Guide

• Plant in autumn, ideally from September to November.
• Choose a position in full sun or partial shade.
• Prefers fertile, well-drained soil.
• Avoid permanently waterlogged ground.
• Plant bulbs approximately 10–15cm deep, or around 2–3 times the height of the bulb.
• Position with the pointed end facing upwards.
• Space approximately 10–15cm apart.
• Plant in groups for the strongest visual impact.
• Water after planting if the soil is particularly dry.

Planting in Containers

Double Narcissus make excellent spring container plants.

• Choose a reasonably deep pot with good drainage holes.
• Use good-quality, free-draining multipurpose compost.
• Plant bulbs fairly close together without allowing them to touch.
• Position the bulbs with their pointed ends upwards.
• Cover with compost and water thoroughly.
• Keep containers outdoors throughout winter.
• Ensure excess rainwater can drain freely.

They can also be combined with Crocus, Muscari and Tulips for a layered spring display.

Care & Maintenance

Narcissus are exceptionally easy to maintain once established.

• Water during prolonged dry periods while actively growing.
• Container-grown bulbs require more regular watering.
• Feed with a high-potash fertiliser after flowering if desired.
• Deadhead faded flowers before they form seed.
• Leave the foliage untouched after flowering.
• Allow leaves to yellow and die back naturally.
• Established bulbs can remain in the ground for many years.

Double Narcissus combine beautifully with Muscari, Crocus, Tulips, Hyacinths, Primroses, Violas and Hellebores.

Seasonal Interest

After Flowering

• Remove faded flower heads but leave the foliage intact.
• Allow leaves to remain for at least six weeks after flowering or until they naturally turn yellow.
• Do not tie or knot the foliage, as healthy leaves are needed to replenish the bulbs.
• Once completely yellow, foliage can be removed.
• Established clumps can be divided when dormant if they become overcrowded.

Common Problems

• Waterlogging can cause bulb rot.
• Slugs and snails may damage emerging spring shoots.
• Narcissus bulb fly can occasionally affect bulbs.
• Poor flowering may occur when clumps become excessively congested.
• Removing foliage too soon after flowering can reduce the following year's display.
• Double flowers can be relatively heavy, so very exposed sites may leave blooms vulnerable to wind and heavy rain.

All standard deliveries will be completed within 5-7 working days via DPD Couriers, any delay to this delivery time, the customer will be notified by One of our staff.

The in-Store delivery charge will vary compared with online, in-store delivery charge is done on a case by case basis.

Live Plants Delivery

Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.

Can’t wait for delivery? Why not try our FREE Click & Collect service? Simply make your purchase online and collect it from our store located in Croagh Co. Limerick. Our staff will contact you by phone when your order is ready for collection (Please allow 24 hours minimum). When collecting your item, call the store on 069-64084. We will then load into your car as required. This service is available in-store 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday (No collections on Sundays)
