Description and Characteristics

Alstroemeria Colorita® 'Eliane Orange' is a compact, long-blooming Peruvian lily bred for performance in containers and small garden spaces. A standout in the Colorita® series, this variety features vibrant orange flowers with soft yellow throats and delicate burgundy markings, delivering bold colour and strong visual contrast throughout the summer months.

Growing to just 25–35 cm in height with a spread of 30–40 cm, ‘Eliane Orange’ forms a neat, clump-forming mound of upright, leafy stems. Flowering begins in late spring and continues through to the first autumn frost, offering excellent season-long impact with minimal maintenance. The sturdy stems and floriferous nature also make this variety an excellent choice for cutting.

Growing Conditions and Maintenance

Alstroemeria 'Eliane Orange' is a low-maintenance, high-performance perennial that thrives in sunny, well-drained locations. It performs beautifully in containers as well as in open soil with basic care and routine deadheading.

• Sunlight Requirements:

  • Best in full sun to partial shade

  • In very warm areas, some afternoon shade helps maintain flower quality

• Soil Preferences:

  • Requires well-drained, fertile soil enriched with compost or organic matter

  • Performs best in neutral to slightly acidic pH

  • Avoid heavy or compacted soil; in containers, use peat-free compost with added grit or perlite

• Watering Needs:

  • Water regularly during the growing season, keeping the soil evenly moist

  • Avoid soggy conditions, particularly in cooler months

  • In containers, ensure proper drainage to prevent root rot

• Feeding:

  • Apply a balanced, slow-release fertiliser in early spring

  • Optional: feed every 2–3 weeks with a liquid fertiliser during peak bloom

• Deadheading and Pruning:

  • Remove spent flower stems by pulling (not cutting) them from the base

  • Clean up any yellowing foliage to maintain plant health and appearance

  • In autumn, cut back growth if overwintering indoors; otherwise, leave foliage to protect the crown

• Winter Care:

  • In frost-prone regions, apply a thick mulch layer over the crown after the first frost

  • Container-grown plants should be moved to a sheltered, frost-free location or insulated

  • In cold climates, consider lifting tubers and storing them in dry compost indoors

Live Plants Delivery

Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.

Can’t wait for delivery? Why not try our FREE Click & Collect service? Simply make your purchase online and collect it from our store located in Croagh Co. Limerick. Our staff will contact you by phone when your order is ready for collection (Please allow 24 hours minimum). When collecting your item, call the store on 069-64084. We will then load into your car as required. This service is available in-store 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday (No collections on Sundays)
