• Arabis blepharophylla ‘Frühlingszauber’ is a low-growing, evergreen perennial known for its vibrant pink spring flowers.

• Produces masses of bright rosy-pink blooms in early to mid-spring.

• Forms compact mats of small, dark green foliage that provide year-round ground cover.

• Typically grows to 15–20 cm in height, spreading gradually over time.

• Ideal for rockeries, gravel gardens, raised beds, and the front of borders.

• Excellent for cascading over walls and edging pathways.

• Attractive to early pollinators such as bees.

• Provides valuable early-season colour when few other plants are in flower.

This variety is prized for its vivid blooms and neat, spreading habit.

Planting & Positioning

• Plant in full sun for the best flowering display.

• Tolerates light partial shade but flowers most heavily in bright conditions.

• Prefers well-drained soil and does not tolerate winter waterlogging.

• Performs particularly well in sandy or gravelly soils.

• Improve heavy soils with grit to enhance drainage.

• Dig a hole slightly wider and the same depth as the pot.

• Position the plant so the top of the root ball sits level with the soil surface.

• Backfill, firm gently, and water thoroughly after planting.

• Space plants around 25–30 cm apart to allow for spreading growth.

Arabis thrives in sunny, open positions with excellent drainage.

Watering, Feeding & Flowering

• Water regularly during the first growing season to help establish roots.

• Once established, plants are drought tolerant and require minimal watering.

• Avoid overwatering, particularly in winter.

• Feed lightly in early spring with a balanced fertiliser if soil is poor.

• Avoid excessive feeding, which can encourage leafy growth over flowers.

• Flowering occurs in early to mid-spring, creating a vibrant carpet of colour.

• Deadheading is optional but may help maintain a tidy appearance.

Good drainage and full sun are key to reliable spring flowering.

Pruning, Maintenance & General Care

• Lightly trim back after flowering to maintain a compact shape and encourage fresh growth.

• Remove any dead or damaged stems as needed.

• Avoid cutting into old woody growth, as regrowth may be limited.

• Divide clumps every few years if they become overcrowded.

• Apply a light gravel mulch to keep foliage dry and improve drainage.

• Generally low maintenance and pest resistant when grown in suitable conditions.

• Evergreen foliage may persist through winter in milder climates.

Live Plants Delivery

Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.

Can’t wait for delivery? Why not try our FREE Click & Collect service? Simply make your purchase online and collect it from our store located in Croagh Co. Limerick. Our staff will contact you by phone when your order is ready for collection (Please allow 24 hours minimum). When collecting your item, call the store on 069-64084. We will then load into your car as required. This service is available in-store 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday (No collections on Sundays)
