Calluna vulgaris 'Garden Girls'® Twin is an attractive two-colour Heather combination from the popular Garden Girls® range. Two contrasting Calluna colours are grown together to create an instant mixed display in a single pot.

Garden Girls® Callunas are known as bud-blooming Heathers. Instead of the flowers opening fully, the colourful buds remain closed, allowing them to retain their colour for an exceptionally long period. This makes them particularly valuable for autumn and winter containers, when many other flowering plants are beginning to fade.

The exact colour combination can vary depending on the plants supplied, making each Twin pot an attractive ready-made seasonal display.

Planting Guide

• Plant in full sun or light partial shade.
• Choose acidic, humus-rich and well-drained soil.
• Use ericaceous compost when planting in containers.
• Water thoroughly before planting.
• Plant at the same depth as the existing root ball.
• Firm the soil or compost gently around the roots.
• Water well after planting.
• Avoid permanently waterlogged positions.

For permanent garden planting, Calluna performs best in naturally acidic soil.

Planting in Containers

Garden Girls® Twin is particularly effective in patio pots, window boxes and mixed seasonal planters.

• Choose a container with adequate drainage holes.
• Fill with good-quality ericaceous compost.
• Plant the Twin Heather as a feature or combine it with other autumn plants.
• Water thoroughly after planting.
• Keep the compost moderately moist but never saturated.
• Ensure excess rainwater can drain freely during wet Irish winters.

It combines beautifully with Violas, Cyclamen, Carex, Ivy, ornamental Brassicas and other autumn Heathers.

Care & Maintenance

Calluna requires relatively little maintenance when provided with suitable growing conditions.

• Water regularly while newly planted.
• Do not allow container-grown plants to dry out completely.
• Rainwater is ideal where available.
• Avoid prolonged waterlogging.
• Feed lightly in spring with an ericaceous or acid-loving plant fertiliser if required.
• Avoid excessive feeding, which can encourage soft growth.

All standard deliveries will be completed within 5-7 working days via DPD Couriers, any delay to this delivery time, the customer will be notified by One of our staff.

The in-Store delivery charge will vary compared with online, in-store delivery charge is done on a case by case basis.

Live Plants Delivery

Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.

Can’t wait for delivery? Why not try our FREE Click & Collect service? Simply make your purchase online and collect it from our store located in Croagh Co. Limerick. Our staff will contact you by phone when your order is ready for collection (Please allow 24 hours minimum). When collecting your item, call the store on 069-64084. We will then load into your car as required. This service is available in-store 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday (No collections on Sundays)
