Overview & Features

• Coprosma, commonly known as Mirror Plant, is an evergreen shrub valued for its glossy, colourful foliage.

• Available in a range of varieties featuring green, gold, bronze, red, pink, and variegated leaves.

• Leaves are highly polished and reflective, giving a vibrant, modern look.

• Some varieties develop deeper red or bronze tones in cooler weather.

• Forms a compact, rounded shrub depending on the cultivar.

• Typically grows 60–150 cm in height and spread.

• Suitable for borders, coastal gardens, and containers.

• Provides year-round colour and structure.

Coprosma varieties are prized for their bold foliage and low-maintenance nature.

Planting & Positioning

• Plant in full sun or partial shade.

• Best foliage colour develops in bright light.

• Prefers well-drained soil enriched with organic matter.

• Avoid heavy, waterlogged soils, especially in winter.

• Ideal for sheltered gardens and coastal locations.

• Dig a hole twice as wide as the rootball and the same depth.

• Plant at the same depth as it was in the container and firm gently.

• Suitable for large containers with good drainage.

Coprosma performs best in warm, sheltered positions.

Watering, Feeding & Growth

• Water regularly during the first growing season to establish roots.

• Keep soil evenly moist but not waterlogged.

• Once established, plants are moderately drought tolerant.

• Feed in early spring with a balanced fertiliser to encourage healthy growth.

• A light second feed in early summer may enhance foliage colour.

• Growth is steady and compact with regular trimming.

Consistent moisture during establishment supports strong development.

Pruning, Maintenance & General Care

• Trim lightly in spring to maintain shape and encourage bushy growth.

• Remove any dead or damaged stems as needed.

• Avoid heavy pruning into old wood.

• Mulch annually to conserve moisture and suppress weeds.

• Protect from severe frost in colder areas, especially young plants.

• Generally low maintenance once established in suitable conditions.

Standard Delivery is FREE on orders over €250*

All standard deliveries will be completed within 5-7 working days via Fastway Couriers, any delay to this delivery time, the customer will be notified by One of our staff.

The in-Store delivery charge will vary compared with online, in-store delivery charge is done on a case by case basis. 

* Only mainland Ireland addresses qualify for free delivery.
 

Live Plants Delivery

Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.
 

Click & Collect

Can’t wait for delivery? Why not try our FREE Click & Collect service? Simply make your purchase online and collect it from our store located in Croagh Co. Limerick. Our staff will contact you by phone when your order is ready for collection (Please allow 24 hours minimum). When collecting your item, call the store on 069-64084. We will then load into your car as required. This service is available in-store 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday (No collections on Sundays)
