• Origin: Selected form of Euonymus japonicus, valued for its upright habit and year-round foliage colour.

• Growth Habit: Dense, compact, and naturally upright; typically reaches 1–1.5 metres in height with a spread of around 60 cm.

• Foliage: Glossy, dark green leaves with creamy-white variegated edges; foliage may develop subtle pink tinges in colder months.

• Flowers: Small, greenish-white blooms in summer; inconspicuous but may attract pollinators.

• Seasonal Interest: Evergreen foliage offers structure and interest year-round, with variegation adding brightness to winter gardens.

• Garden Uses: Perfect for low hedging, formal borders, container planting, and as an accent plant. Works well in both contemporary and traditional landscapes.

Planting Conditions and Ideal Location

Routine Care, Feeding, and Seasonal Maintenance

• Watering:

  • Keep soil consistently moist during the first year after planting.

  • Once established, water only during prolonged dry spells.

• Feeding: Apply a balanced slow-release fertiliser each spring to encourage healthy foliage and growth.

• Pruning:

  • Trim lightly in late spring or summer to maintain shape and encourage dense growth.

  • Remove any shoots that revert to all-green to preserve the variegated pattern.

• Mulching: Apply a 5 cm layer of organic mulch in spring to help retain soil moisture and suppress weeds, keeping it away from the base of the stems.

• Pest and Disease Resistance: Generally resistant to pests and diseases, but may occasionally experience scale insects or mildew—these can be treated with appropriate horticultural measures.

• Winter Care: Fully hardy; no protection required. In exposed, windy sites, minor leaf scorch may occur in winter but new growth will restore appearance in spring.

• Weed Control: Keep the area around the base weed-free to reduce competition for water and nutrients.

The in-Store delivery charge will vary compared with online, in-store delivery charge is done on a case by case basis.

Live Plants Delivery

Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.

Can’t wait for delivery? Why not try our FREE Click & Collect service? Simply make your purchase online and collect it from our store located in Croagh Co. Limerick. Our staff will contact you by phone when your order is ready for collection (Please allow 24 hours minimum). When collecting your item, call the store on 069-64084. We will then load into your car as required. This service is available in-store 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday (No collections on Sundays)
