About Euphorbia 'Colibri'

Euphorbia 'Colibri' is a compact ornamental Spurge grown for its attractive foliage and distinctive yellow-green to lime-green flower bracts. Its fresh colouring and architectural growth make it an excellent foliage plant for contemporary containers, gravel-style planting and mixed borders.

Like other ornamental Euphorbias, much of the floral impact comes from the colourful bracts surrounding the small true flowers. These create a bright display that contrasts beautifully with darker foliage plants and spring-flowering perennials.

Its relatively compact habit makes 'Colibri' particularly useful where a smaller Euphorbia is required.

Planting Guide

• Choose a position in full sun to partial shade.
• Plant in fertile, well-drained soil.
• Avoid permanently wet or waterlogged ground.
• Dig a planting hole slightly wider than the root ball.
• Plant at approximately the same depth as it was growing in its container.
• Firm the soil gently around the roots.
• Water thoroughly after planting.
• Water regularly during its first growing season while the root system establishes.

Good drainage is particularly important during prolonged periods of wet Irish winter weather.

Planting in Containers

Euphorbia 'Colibri' is well suited to container growing.

• Choose a pot with adequate drainage holes.
• Use good-quality, free-draining multipurpose compost.
• Adding horticultural grit can improve drainage.
• Position in a sunny or lightly shaded location.
• Water when the upper layer of compost begins to dry.

• Avoid excessive watering.
• Apply a light general-purpose feed in spring if growing in poor soil.
• Remove damaged or deteriorating foliage when necessary.
• Mulch around garden-grown plants in spring, keeping mulch away from the crown.

Pruning

Remove old flowered stems when they begin to deteriorate to keep the plant looking fresh and tidy.

Important: Euphorbias produce a milky white sap that can irritate the skin and eyes.

• Always wear gloves when pruning.
• Avoid touching your face or eyes while handling cut stems.
• Remove damaged growth using clean secateurs.
• Wash tools and hands thoroughly afterwards.
• Avoid severe unnecessary pruning.

All standard deliveries will be completed within 5-7 working days via DPD Couriers, any delay to this delivery time, the customer will be notified by One of our staff.

The in-Store delivery charge will vary compared with online, in-store delivery charge is done on a case by case basis.

Live Plants Delivery

Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.

Can’t wait for delivery? Why not try our FREE Click & Collect service? Simply make your purchase online and collect it from our store located in Croagh Co. Limerick. Our staff will contact you by phone when your order is ready for collection (Please allow 24 hours minimum). When collecting your item, call the store on 069-64084. We will then load into your car as required. This service is available in-store 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday (No collections on Sundays)
