Overview and Features

Geranium 'Rozanne'® is a multi-award-winning, hardy perennial celebrated for its exceptionally long flowering period and vibrant violet-blue blooms. It is a sterile hybrid of Geranium wallichianum and Geranium himalayense, which means it puts all its energy into flowering rather than seed production—resulting in months of continuous colour.

This variety forms a mounded, spreading clump with attractive, deeply-lobed green foliage that may take on red or bronze tints in autumn. 'Rozanne' is ideal for ground cover, mixed borders, cottage gardens, and containers, and is especially valuable for low-maintenance, pollinator-friendly planting schemes.

Growing Conditions and Maintenance

Geranium 'Rozanne' is easy to grow, resilient, and performs well in a wide range of garden conditions.

• Light Requirements:

  • Prefers full sun to partial shade

  • Flowers best with at least 4–6 hours of sunlight daily

• Soil Preferences:

  • Grows in moist, well-drained soil

  • Tolerates clay, loam, and sandy soils

  • Suitable for neutral to slightly acidic or alkaline pH

• Watering:

  • Keep soil evenly moist during establishment

  • Once established, moderately drought-tolerant

  • Avoid waterlogging

• Feeding:

  • Apply a balanced fertiliser in spring for strong early growth

  • In containers, feed monthly during flowering season

• Pruning and Maintenance:

  • No regular deadheading required—self-cleaning

  • For neatness, shear back in midsummer to encourage fresh foliage and blooms

  • Cut back to the base in late autumn or early spring

‘Rozanne’ provides vibrant ground cover and continuous floral interest over a long season, making it one of the most dependable perennials for gardens of all sizes.

• Flowering Time:

  • From late May/June through October, often until the first frost

• Design Applications:

  • Superb in borders, rock gardens, cottage gardens, or as a ground cover

  • Fills gaps between shrubs or tall perennials

  • Suitable for containers, raised beds, and cascading over walls

• Companion Plants:

  • Blends well with Salvia, Rudbeckia, Echinacea, Campanula, and ornamental grasses

  • Great with spring bulbs—leaves emerge later to fill in space

• Pest and Disease Resistance:

  • Generally pest-free and disease-resistant

  • Foliage may occasionally be nibbled by slugs or scorched in drought—minimal impact

Live Plants Delivery

Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.

Can’t wait for delivery? Why not try our FREE Click & Collect service? Simply make your purchase online and collect it from our store located in Croagh Co. Limerick. Our staff will contact you by phone when your order is ready for collection (Please allow 24 hours minimum). When collecting your item, call the store on 069-64084. We will then load into your car as required. This service is available in-store 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday (No collections on Sundays)
