Description and Characteristics
Hebe ‘Frozen Flame’ is a striking evergreen shrub grown for its colourful, variegated foliage and elegant habit. The small, ovate leaves are a silvery-green with creamy-white margins, and new growth often emerges with soft pink or purple tones, especially in cooler weather—giving the plant a “frozen” yet warm appearance that inspired its name. This colourful foliage provides year-round interest, even when the plant is not in bloom.
From late spring into summer, this compact shrub produces short spikes of soft lilac to lavender-pink flowers that attract bees and butterflies. It forms a neat, rounded mound, typically reaching about 40–60 cm in height and 50–70 cm in spread, making it perfect for containers, borders, and year-round displays.
‘Frozen Flame’ is particularly suited to coastal gardens, patio pots, urban designs, and mixed evergreen plantings where colour and compact form are desired.
