Ligularia przewalskii – Planting & Care Guide
About Ligularia przewalskii
Ligularia przewalskii, commonly known as Przewalski's Ligularia, is a magnificent architectural perennial prized for its dramatic deeply divided foliage and tall, elegant flower spikes. During mid to late summer, slender spires of bright golden-yellow flowers rise high above the foliage, creating a striking vertical feature in the garden.
Growing to approximately 150–180cm tall with a spread of 60–90cm, this impressive perennial forms bold clumps of dark green, fern-like leaves that provide texture and interest from spring until autumn. Its nectar-rich flowers are highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinating insects, making it an excellent choice for wildlife-friendly gardens. It thrives in consistently moist soil and is particularly effective beside ponds, streams and in woodland gardens.
