About Phlox 'Famous White'

Phlox 'Famous White' is a compact, long-flowering perennial renowned for its large clusters of pure white, lightly fragrant flowers. Part of the premium Famous® Series, it has been bred for outstanding disease resistance, strong stems and a long flowering season. Blooming from mid-summer until early autumn, it brings fresh colour and elegance to borders, patio containers and cottage gardens.

Growing to approximately 50–70cm tall with a spread of 40–50cm, 'Famous White' forms a neat, bushy clump of rich green foliage topped with large flower heads that attract bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinating insects. Its sturdy stems and long-lasting blooms also make it an excellent cut flower.

Planting Guide

• Plant in full sun for the best flowering display.
• Will tolerate light partial shade.
• Prefers fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil.
• Improve the soil with compost or well-rotted organic matter before planting.
• Dig a planting hole twice the width of the root ball and the same depth.
• Carefully remove the plant from its container and gently loosen the roots.
• Position the crown level with the surrounding soil surface.
• Backfill with soil, firm gently and water thoroughly.
• Apply a 5–8cm layer of organic mulch around the base to help retain moisture.
• Space plants approximately 40–50cm apart to ensure good air circulation.

Phlox 'Famous White' is easy to grow and flowers reliably with regular care.

• Water regularly during the first growing season.
• Keep the soil evenly moist, especially during warm, dry weather.
• Avoid allowing the soil to dry out completely.
• Feed in spring with a balanced slow-release fertiliser.
• Apply a liquid fertiliser every few weeks during flowering for the best display.
• Refresh mulch annually to improve soil fertility and conserve moisture.
• Remove weeds regularly around the base.
• Divide mature clumps every 3–4 years to maintain vigour.
• Ensure good air circulation to keep foliage healthy.

Live Plants Delivery

Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.

Can’t wait for delivery? Why not try our FREE Click & Collect service? Simply make your purchase online and collect it from our store located in Croagh Co. Limerick. Our staff will contact you by phone when your order is ready for collection (Please allow 24 hours minimum). When collecting your item, call the store on 069-64084. We will then load into your car as required. This service is available in-store 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday (No collections on Sundays)
