Description and Characteristics

Potentilla fruticosa 'Bella Lindsey'® is a compact, deciduous flowering shrub selected for its prolific warm yellow blooms, tidy growth habit, and long seasonal interest. Part of the Bella series of Potentilla cultivars, ‘Bella Lindsey’® is known for its uniform shape, high flower count, and reliability in a range of climates and soil conditions.

From late spring through early autumn (typically May to September), this plant produces an abundance of cheerful, butter-yellow flowers, each with a delicate golden centre. These blooms stand out vividly against the fine, mid-green pinnate foliage, forming a fresh and tidy contrast through the season.

Reaching a compact mature height and spread of 30–50 cm, ‘Bella Lindsey’® is well-suited to small borders, rockeries, containers, or as ground cover. Its resilience, low water needs, and long flowering period make it a favourite for low-maintenance and drought-tolerant planting schemes.

Growing Conditions and Maintenance

Potentilla 'Bella Lindsey'® is very easy to grow, drought-tolerant, and suitable for a wide range of soil types and climates. It requires very little care to thrive and continues flowering with minimal input.

• Light Requirements:

  • Best in full sun, which promotes the strongest flowering and healthiest foliage

  • Tolerates light shade, though flowering may be slightly reduced

• Soil Preferences:

  • Grows in well-drained soil, including poor or sandy types

  • Tolerates alkaline and chalky soils

  • Avoid heavy, wet soils unless well-drained

• Watering Needs:

  • Water regularly while establishing

  • Once established, highly drought-tolerant—ideal for dry gardens

  • Container-grown plants may require more frequent watering

• Feeding:

  • Feed in spring with a general-purpose fertiliser for best results

  • A light mulch of compost can improve moisture retention and enrich the soil

• Pruning and Maintenance:

  • Minimal pruning—lightly trim in early spring to maintain shape

  • Remove old, dead, or woody stems every few years to rejuvenate

  • No deadheading necessary—blooms continue without it

The in-Store delivery charge will vary compared with online, in-store delivery charge is done on a case by case basis.

Live Plants Delivery

Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.

Can’t wait for delivery? Why not try our FREE Click & Collect service? Simply make your purchase online and collect it from our store located in Croagh Co. Limerick. Our staff will contact you by phone when your order is ready for collection (Please allow 24 hours minimum). When collecting your item, call the store on 069-64084. We will then load into your car as required. This service is available in-store 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday (No collections on Sundays)
