Native to tropical regions of West Africa, Sansevieria trifasciata is a succulent-like perennial that has adapted to survive tough, dry conditions. The ‘Laurentii’ cultivar is distinguished by its tall, variegated leaves with distinctive golden-yellow margins.

• Habit: Upright, clump-forming perennial with stiff, sword-shaped leaves.

• Height & spread: Grows 60–120cm tall and 30–60cm wide.

• Foliage: Glossy, dark-green leaves patterned with lighter green horizontal bands and bright yellow edges.

• Flowers: Occasionally produces fragrant, greenish-white flower spikes under ideal conditions, though flowering is rare indoors.

• Growth rate: Slow to moderate, depending on light and care.

Planting & Positioning

• When to plant: Year-round as an indoor plant.

• Containers: Use pots with drainage holes to prevent waterlogging.

• Position: Place in bright, indirect light for best leaf colour, but it will also thrive in partial or low light.

• Display: Excellent as a floor plant, tabletop accent, or grouped with other succulents for contrast.

Watering & Feeding

• Water sparingly — allow the top 5cm of soil to dry out completely before watering again.

• In winter, reduce watering to once every 3–4 weeks.

• Overwatering is the most common cause of problems; roots should never sit in water.

• Feed monthly during spring and summer with a diluted cactus or houseplant fertiliser.

Pruning & Maintenance

• Wipe leaves occasionally with a damp cloth to remove dust and maintain their glossy shine.

• Remove damaged or yellowing leaves by cutting them at the base.

• Repot every 2–3 years in spring when roots start to crowd the pot.

• Propagate easily by dividing clumps or rooting leaf cuttings in soil or water.

Protection

• Keep out of reach of pets and children — the plant is mildly toxic if ingested.

• Avoid temperatures below 10°C.

• Very resistant to pests and diseases; however, mealybugs or spider mites may occasionally appear — simply wipe affected areas clean.

Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.

Our staff will contact you by phone when your order is ready for collection (Please allow 24 hours minimum). When collecting your item, call the store on 069-64084. We will then load into your car as required. This service is available in-store 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday (No collections on Sundays)
