About Sidalcea 'Little Princess'

Sidalcea 'Little Princess', commonly known as Prairie Mallow, is a charming herbaceous perennial that produces elegant spires of soft shell-pink flowers throughout early summer to early autumn. The delicate, cup-shaped blooms are carried on upright stems above attractive, deeply lobed green foliage, creating a graceful display that adds height and colour to borders.

Growing to approximately 50–70cm tall with a spread of 35–45cm, 'Little Princess' has a neat, clump-forming habit that makes it ideal for cottage gardens, mixed perennial borders and cut flower gardens. The nectar-rich flowers attract bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinating insects, making it an excellent addition to wildlife-friendly planting schemes.

Planting Guide

• Plant in full sun for the best flowering display.
• Will tolerate light partial shade.
• Prefers fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil.
• Suitable for loam, sandy and clay soils if drainage is good.
• Improve poor soils with compost or well-rotted organic matter before planting.
• Dig a planting hole twice the width of the root ball and the same depth.
• Carefully remove the plant from its container and gently loosen the roots.
• Position the crown level with the surrounding soil surface.
• Backfill with soil, firm gently and water thoroughly.
• Apply a 5–8cm layer of organic mulch around the base to help retain moisture.
• Space plants approximately 35–45cm apart.

Live Plants Delivery

Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.

Can’t wait for delivery? Why not try our FREE Click & Collect service? Simply make your purchase online and collect it from our store located in Croagh Co. Limerick. Our staff will contact you by phone when your order is ready for collection (Please allow 24 hours minimum). When collecting your item, call the store on 069-64084. We will then load into your car as required. This service is available in-store 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday (No collections on Sundays)
