Overview & Features

• Vitis ‘Sukribe’ is a modern seedless grape variety grown for its exceptionally sweet flavour and crisp texture.

• Produces medium to large clusters of pale green grapes.

• Fruits are firm, juicy, and ideal for fresh eating.

• Deciduous climbing vine with attractive lobed green foliage.

• Leaves often turn yellow in autumn before falling.

• Typically grows 3–5 metres in length when mature.

• Suitable for training along walls, pergolas, trellis, or inside a greenhouse.

• Self-fertile, so a single plant will produce fruit.

This variety is valued for its sweetness, good cropping ability, and suitability for home growing.

Planting & Positioning

• Plant in full sun for best fruit ripening and sugar development.

• Choose a warm, sheltered position protected from strong winds.

• South- or west-facing walls are ideal in cooler climates.

• Prefers fertile, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter.

• Avoid heavy or waterlogged soils.

• Dig a hole twice as wide as the rootball and the same depth.

• Plant slightly away from walls to allow roots access to natural rainfall.

• Provide strong support such as horizontal wires or pergola beams.

• Space at least 1.5–2 metres from other vines.

Warmth, sunlight, and good airflow are essential for reliable cropping.

Watering, Feeding & Flowering

• Water regularly during the first growing season to establish roots.

• Keep soil evenly moist during dry spells, especially when fruit is forming.

• Avoid overwatering once grapes begin to ripen.

• Feed in early spring with a balanced fertiliser to support strong growth.

• Apply compost annually to improve soil fertility.

• Flowering typically occurs in late spring to early summer.

• Grapes ripen from late summer into early autumn, depending on conditions.

Consistent sun exposure enhances sweetness and fruit quality.

Pruning, Maintenance & General Care

• Prune annually in winter while the vine is dormant.

• Train along wires using a cordon or fan system for best results.

• Remove excess side shoots in summer to improve airflow and light penetration.

• Thin grape clusters if necessary to improve size and ripening.

• Protect ripening fruit from birds using netting.

• Monitor for powdery mildew and ensure good ventilation.

• Mulch annually to conserve moisture and suppress weeds.

All standard deliveries will be completed within 5-7 working days via Fastway Couriers, any delay to this delivery time, the customer will be notified by One of our staff.

The in-Store delivery charge will vary compared with online, in-store delivery charge is done on a case by case basis.

Live Plants Delivery

Our live plants are packed with care and diligence by our staff, our horticulturists review each plant before despatch to ensure quality is maintained.
Live Plant delivery charges are not calculated on weight but on the space required per package to ensure safe delivery, so delivery charges may vary as some plants require more space than others when packed.
All live plants are despatched within 3-5 working days where possible, our couriers aim to deliver within 48 hours of despatch from our Garden Centre to allow the plant to arrive in healthy condition.
 

Click & Collect

Can’t wait for delivery? Why not try our FREE Click & Collect service? Simply make your purchase online and collect it from our store located in Croagh Co. Limerick. Our staff will contact you by phone when your order is ready for collection (Please allow 24 hours minimum). When collecting your item, call the store on 069-64084. We will then load into your car as required. This service is available in-store 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday (No collections on Sundays)
